Product Details

The Harkk Bifold Window system uses the RECT 86 post and a modified VOID rail which tracks the bottom of an AWS window system over the balustrade.

This then gives a system which:

  • meets all of the Building Code requirements in regards to strength and serviceability for a balustrade system
  • has the clean lines and glass infill of the RECT 86/VOID system
  • has an operable bifold window system on top which greatly enhances the use of the balcony in that:
    • it can keep cold and/or wind out
    • reduces noise
    • is lockable and more secure.
This then greatly enhances the usefulness of a balcony but also allows it to be used as a normal balcony by opening the bifold windows.

The bifold windows are a standard AWS design being top hung and fully stackable to the side. They are connected to the underside of the VOID rail by a patented 'C bracket' which also acts as a handle to open/close the bi-folds as the running tracks for the window are:

  • over the window on the underside of the slab above
  • under the VOID rail

They tend to remain dirt and debris free and present a clean neat appearance.

The system is designed for normal balustrade loadings or wind pressures up to 3kPa.

The handrail is usually 1 to 1.2m above balcony level and the bifold windows above are to 1.5m high.
